Build and publish in Studio · How-to guide
Test an app before you share it
Try a Studio app the way a host would see it, and send tester links to people outside your workspace without publishing.
Use this before you publish, or to let a few people outside your workspace try an app. There are two tools: the try page for you, and tester links for other people.
Try it yourself
Open the app in Studio and choose to try it. The page is "Try" and the app's name.
It runs a model with your app's tools, through the app's own address, and shows the card a host would draw. Ask the questions your users will ask, and check both the card and the text.
Every call here counts against your workspace like a call from a connected AI tool.
Send a tester link
A tester link lets someone try the app with no ahel account and no sign-in.
- In the app's Tester links panel, add a label (optional), choose the model and how many hours the link is valid, and press Create link.
- Copy the link straight away: "Copy it now; it is shown once."
- Send it to your tester.
Things to know:
- A link is valid for 7 days unless you choose otherwise, and for 30 days at most.
- An app can have up to 10 open links. Revoke one to make room.
- Each link has a small model budget from your workspace. The app's own calls are counted on top.
- Only an owner or a team lead can create or Revoke links, and only while the app is active.
- Tester pages are not indexed by search engines.
When a link has expired or been revoked, the tester sees "This tester link is not open" and is asked to request a new one.
When it is right
When testers get the answers they expect, publish the app or keep it to your workspace. Publishing is a separate step.
