Windsurf

Add Ahel to Windsurf's Cascade with serverUrl in mcp_config.json, refresh, and sign in to use its tools.

Windsurf's agent, Cascade, reads Ahel from its MCP config file.

From the Windsurf docs, seen 2026-10-20. Not yet run end to end against Ahel from Windsurf.

Steps

  1. Copy your address from Settings, then Connect AI.

  2. In Windsurf, open Cascade's MCP menu and choose Open MCP config file. Or go to Settings, Tools, Windsurf Settings, then Add Server.

  3. Add Ahel under mcpServers:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "ahel": { "serverUrl": "YOUR_ADDRESS" }
      }
    }

  4. Save, then press the refresh button in the MCP panel. Windsurf does not reload by itself.

  5. Sign in to Ahel when Windsurf asks, then ask Cascade for a pipeline.

With an access token

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ahel": {
      "serverUrl": "YOUR_ADDRESS",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:AHEL_TOKEN}" }
    }
  }
}

Good to know

  • Enterprise workspaces turn MCP on in settings first. If an admin allowlists servers, Ahel must be on the list.
  • The file's location depends on your Windsurf version. Open MCP config file always opens the right one.
