AI steps
The six AI tasks you can add to a pipeline, what each row gets back, what one row costs, and how to add one.
An AI step reads each row of the step before it and writes new columns. It works on batches of rows, so it fits after any source.
The six tasks
| Task | Each row gets | Cost per row |
|---|---|---|
| Classify | one label from your list | about 6¢ per 50 rows |
| Extract | one column per field you name | about 11¢ per 50 rows |
| Summarise | a one-line summary | about 9¢ per 50 rows |
| Score | a score from 0 to 100 and a one-line reason | about 10¢ per 50 rows |
| Match | yes or no, the name it matched and a confidence from 0 to 1 | about 8¢ per 50 rows |
| Draft | a short message of 3 sentences at most | about 16¢ per 50 rows |
Costs are estimates at the platform's default model. The builder shows the estimate for your rows before you switch on. A run charges what the model actually cost for the rows it read, rounded up to a whole cent, and stops before it would pass your monthly budget.
Add one
- In the builder, open the Transform group of the palette.
- Under AI, press the task you want.
- Fill in its fields:
- Classify: the labels, one per line.
- Extract: the field names, one per line.
- Score: your profile, in your own words.
- Match: the names to match, one per line.
- Summarise and Draft: an answer language, and for Draft the name to sign with.
- Edit the Instruction if the default does not fit.
Limits
- 200 rows a step by default, up to 1,000.
- The answer goes in new columns; the row's own facts are left as they were.
